Elizabeth (Liza) Shakhnovich is a tenured healthcare strategic advisor with experience across the ecosystem. Liza’s early client experience focused on supporting pharmaceutical companies in anticipation of changes driven by Healthcare Reform. Her more recent work has focused on serving National, regional and provider-owned health plans with a broad range of challenges in the evolving market. Liza has worked with her payer clients across all lines of business and with a particular focus on clinical services and care management operations. Liza is also one of the practice experts on healthcare payments and revenue cycle management and spends her time with a wide array of organizations (payers, providers, enablement companies, financial services organizations) to solve their challenges as the healthcare payments space rapidly evolves.

Prior to Oliver Wyman, Liza was an academic scientist in infectious disease. She received her BA in molecular biology with a minor in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania (2002) and her PhD in microbiology from Harvard Medical School (2007) with a focus on novel antibiotic development in Vibrio cholerae. Liza has 4 years of post doctoral experience studying infectious disease and has spent time as an adjunct professor of microbiology at Ursinus College.
