The World Economic Forum held its Annual Meeting 2022 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, May 22-26. The meeting brought together more than 2,000 leaders and experts from around the world during one of the most consequential geopolitical and geo-economic moments of the past three decades. The UN Refugee Agency is launching a Refugee Environmental Protection Fund to invest in reforestation and clean cooking programs in refugee situations globally. The fund is a flagship, high visibility project run by the UNHCR  and with direct support from the High Commissioner. It is a central part of UNHCR’s Operational Strategy for Climate Resilience and Environmental Sustainability 2022-2025. Oliver Wyman has supported some of the work underpinning the ideation and planning of the fund over the last year. We are now one of the corporate founding partners alongside two governments, a prominent law firm and a large European development bank.

Alex, a former president and CEO of Guy Carpenter, is responsible for the oversight of Marsh McLennan's international strategy, as well as its expanding group of Country Corporate Officers located in regions around the world. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter in 2011, Alex served as President and CEO of Marsh's International Division, comprising all countries outside of the United States and Canada. Alex, who has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, joined Marsh in 1993 as director of planning and development for Argentina and Chile.

Ted is a Partner and Global Head of Financial Services. Prior to this, Ted led Oliver Wyman Financial Services in Europe and served as the Global Head of the Corporate & Institutional Banking Practice. Ted's background is in mathematics and control engineering, which was his specialty for a number of years before joining Oliver Wyman. Ted has concentrated on investment banking strategy, and in recent years has led several bank-wide initiatives for global bulge firms, looking at strategic opportunities across all business lines and reporting regularly directly to the executive committees on a range of issues.
