Global Volunteer Month 2024
Each May we celebrate Global Volunteer Month across Marsh McLennan. This year, we are proud to enter our tenth year of the initiative. To celebrate this milestone we’re aiming for 10,000 colleagues to volunteer in the month. Colleagues take the opportunity to connect with each other whilst giving back to the communities where we live and work.
United States
Packing care packages
Colleagues in the United States teamed up to pack bags of goodies for children living in shelters or those facing hard times. The team packed 120 kits to be donated.
Germany
Litter picking
Colleagues in Germany spent an afternoon litter picking in Munich. Despite challenging weather conditions our teammates made their local area cleaner for others in the community.
United States
Supporting Communities
Colleagues in the United States volunteered to fill backpacks with food and essentials for the homeless community. Our 70 colleagues filled nearly 500 backpacks!
Global
Missing Maps
Colleagues volunteered virtually with our nonprofit partner Missing Maps to help communities that live at risk of humanitarian crises. They used satellite imagery to create a base map which is then used by local communities and humanitarian groups to inform decision making and respond more effectively.
Mexico
Strengthening the environment
Mexico colleagues participated in two clean-up activities contributing to the well-being of their community and strengthening our sense of responsibility and commitment to the environment in which we operate.
Hong Kong
Workplace Immersion
Hong Kong colleagues volunteered with our nonprofit partner Junior Achievement to organize a Workplace Immersion for more than 70 local secondary students at the Marsh McLennan office. The event included two workshops and was a valuable chance to interact and share experiences with the students.
Mumbai
Supporting biodiversity
India colleagues spent time cleaning a beach in Mumbai to help preserve the coastlines, support biodiversity and protect the fragile ecosystems.
South Africa
Cooking for students
South Africa colleagues volunteered to make food parcels for students, in total they made over 2,600 rolls for 1,300 students.
