John Q. Doyle
President and Chief Executive Officer, Marsh McLennan
Mr. Doyle is President and CEO of Marsh McLennan. Previously, Mr. Doyle served as Group President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the strategy and operational objectives of Marsh McLennan’s four global businesses. He joined the firm in 2016 as President of Marsh, then led Marsh as President and CEO from 2017 to 2021. An industry veteran with more than 35 years of management experience, Mr. Doyle began his career at AIG, where he held several executive positions. He is a member of the Board of the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund, a Trustee of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund and a member of the Board of Overseers of the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science at St. John’s University. Mr. Doyle serves as the Chairman of the US Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance.
Nick Studer
President and CEO of Oliver Wyman Group
Nick has over 20 years of experience consulting in the UK, Continental Europe and North America. He has worked with chief executives and other senior leaders of the world's top companies on topics spanning governance, strategy, financial planning, risk management and public policy and regulatory response. Nick has advised senior government leaders and policy makers on topics of industry competitiveness and stability, and supported the World Economic Forum on the Role of Financial Services in Society. He has co-authored many articles and studies, including support for Her Majesty's Treasury in proposing a 10-year vision for the Global Competitiveness of the UK's Financial Services Industry; and several projects leading the global debate on compensation. Nick was a founding Director of TheCityUK and a founding advisory board member of the FICC Markets Standards Board.
Pat Tomlinson
President and CEO, Mercer
Mr. Tomlinson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercer and Vice Chair of Marsh McLennan. Mr. Tomlinson also serves as CEO of Marsh McLennan US and Canada, with responsibility for leading across businesses to address clients’ increasingly interconnected risk, strategy and people challenges. Mr. Tomlinson joined Mercer in 2014 as US and Canada Career business leader and, from 2018 to 2020, led the US East Market, where he guided Mercer's Health, Wealth, and Career businesses to meet ever-changing client needs. Prior to joining Mercer, he spent 17 years with Aon and served as an officer in the US Army. Mr. Tomlinson is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor of science in sociology.
Katherine J. Brennan
Senior Vice President & General Counsel
Ms. Brennan leads Marsh McLennan’s global legal, compliance and public affairs function, which supports the Company’s four businesses, Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman. She also leads the Company’s ESG efforts. Ms. Brennan has held several legal and compliance leadership roles at Marsh McLennan, serving most recently as General Counsel, Marsh LLC. She also served as Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer for Marsh McLennan from 2017 to 2021, and prior to that, as General Counsel of Guy Carpenter. Ms. Brennan currently serves on the Board of the Red Cross of Greater New York.
Paul Beswick
SVP & Chief Information and Operations Officer
Mr. Beswick is Senior Vice President and the Global Chief Information and Operations Officer of Marsh McLennan. In this role, he oversees Marsh McLennan's Business and Client Services function which brings together our Operations and Technology teams in support of the firm’s global businesses. Prior to his appointment as Chief Information and Operations Officer, Mr. Beswick variously served as Marsh McLennan’s Chief Information Officer, Deputy CIO, and Global Head of Oliver Wyman Labs and the Digital Practice at Oliver Wyman. With more than two decades at Oliver Wyman, he worked across various sectors, including financial services, retail, transportation, telecoms, and consumer goods. Mr. Beswick holds an MA (first class) in chemical engineering from Cambridge University.
Hervé Balzano
Global Head, Mercer Marsh Benefits & Health
Hervé is the global leader of Mercer and Marsh’s Health & Benefits practice, with extensive experience in financing health and risk protection through insurance, reinsurance and professional services. As a strong advocate for innovation and value creation, he prioritized the adoption of digital services throughout the pandemic, including mental health access, and has spearheaded record-breaking responses in creating services to address clients’ needs during crisis and conflicts. Hervé has a track record of disrupting the health & benefits space, with a focus on collaboration across the ecosystem. He is proud of the work that Marsh McLennan does to assure health coverage and other financial protections for millions of employees across 144 countries and in being able to make a difference in people’s lives.

Amy leads our global Climate Change and Sustainability strategy. Prior to this Amy held a number of leadership roles with Marsh’s Global Energy, Power & Renewables business. Amy has a respected depth and breadth of experience assisting some of the largest and most complex companies manage risks. This experience enables Amy to have a deep understanding of a wide range of clients’ risk management approaches and can offer a number of perspectives to insurance and risk management discussions.

Darren Cromwell is a Managing Director and the US and Canada Industry Practice Leader for Marsh and Mercer at Marsh McLennan Companies (MMC), a global leader in risk, strategy, and people services. In his role, he leads a team of 27 Industry Practice Leaders, focusing on delivering innovative risk management, risk finance and human capital solutions that are tailored to the unique challenges facing each sector. Darren has held various leadership positions where he has been responsible for developing insights into new and emerging risks, with the goal of fostering greater resilience for both organizations and society. Beyond his professional work, he is deeply committed to giving back as a non-profit board member, advocating for equitable access to opportunities. Darren is also an active fundraiser for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. During his time at Bates College, he founded an e-commerce startup that gained national attention, being featured in CNN Money and Fortune Magazine as one of the “6 Hot Dorm Room Startups.”

Matthieu De Clercq is a Partner in our Dubai Office. He has more than 15 years of consulting experience, and has worked in the Middle East/GCC for 8 years, focusing on Economic and Industrial City Development and Strategy. Matthieu holds a combined architect and civil engineer master degree and holds an MBA from SADE, Barcelona. He is proficient in French, English and Spanish and has some good knowledge of Dutch.

Mick Dempsey is President of Mercer’s Investments & Retirement business, which includes a diverse portfolio of services and solutions, including investment consulting, open architecture manager-of-managers investment management, and retirement actuarial consulting services. Since joining Mercer in 1999, Mick has held numerous business and commercial leadership roles across Wealth. Most recently, he was Global Leader of Investment Solutions & Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO). Prior to leading Mercer’s OCIO business, he served as an investment consultant, leading large client relationships in Europe and developing solutions across the full spectrum of retirement and investment-related issues. Mick is a CFA charterholder and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in business from the Michael Smurfit UCD Business School. Mick takes great pride in helping clients achieve better financial security and investment outcomes. As a leader, he is committed to supporting colleague growth, fostering a diverse and inclusive working environment, and building collaborative and purpose-driven teams.

Dr. Lorna Friedman

Dr. Lorna Friedman rejoined Mercer in 2017 in the role of Global Health Lead for Mercer’s Multinational Client Group. Lorna has extensive experience designing health solutions for multinational employee populations including risk analysis, operational and benefit design, onsite and digital delivery. Previous roles include; Director of Health Benefits for Bupa Global based in London, where she oversaw health and network operations across 90 countries. Prior to that, she was a Partner in Mercer’s Global Health Management practice from 2010-15, working with organizations on their health strategies. Her business career includes over 20 years at both domestic and international health plans including CIGNA and CIGNA International. Lorna trained in Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has held academic and teaching positions at University of Pennsylvania and Cornell Medical College and also holds an MBA from Columbia University. Lorna has published and presented on issues regarding public health including the Institute of Medicine, the Agency for Health Care Quality and Research and the International Aids Conference. She has served on several boards with a focus on improving access to health including the Global Business Group on Health, The American Council on Exercise and the March of Dimes. She was the recipient of the Nancy C Barnhart award for Child Advocacy and is a member of the YWCA Women’s Leadership Academy.

Ted is a Partner and Global Head of Financial Services. Prior to this, Ted led Oliver Wyman Financial Services in Europe and served as the Global Head of the Corporate & Institutional Banking Practice. Ted's background is in mathematics and control engineering, which was his specialty for a number of years before joining Oliver Wyman. Ted has concentrated on investment banking strategy, and in recent years has led several bank-wide initiatives for global bulge firms, looking at strategic opportunities across all business lines and reporting regularly directly to the executive committees on a range of issues.

Niall O’Sullivan
Global Solutions CIO, Mercer
Niall is the Global Solutions Chief Investment Officer for Mercer’s Delegated Investment Solutions business. Niall’s team is responsible for the portfolio construction, manager selection and ongoing management and monitoring of Mercer’s range of Investment solutions in Europe. Niall joined Mercer from QED in Dublin where he was a Principal focusing on solution-driven investment opportunities with banks and insurance companies. Prior to this, he spent four years on the structured business desk at Bank of Ireland Global Markets, focusing on the delivery of derivative-based solutions. In this position, he developed and implemented the bank’s LDI product range, as well as managing its suite of inflation-linked solutions. Niall has also worked with AIB Investment Managers and J Henry Schroder in the risk budgeting and structured derivatives areas, respectively. Niall graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1997 with a Gold Medal & First Class Honours in Mathematics. He was also a Scholar of the College. In 2002 he completed an Honours MSc from Dublin City University in Investments and Treasury Management in which he finished in first place. He has lectured part-time on the Masters programme in the Institute of Bankers in Dublin.

Lisa Quest, based in our London office, works with public organizations to improve productivity, deploy digital capabilities and transform. Lisa works with a range of government departments, arms-length bodies and public-private partnerships to deliver better value-for-money for tax payers through higher quality more effective service provision. This involves addressing core strategic, organisational, cultural, and operational challenges through transformation and normal operations. Her work draws on global experience advising both individual departments and on cross-cutting issues such as economic crime and regulation of technology firms. This involves expertise in data and analytics, workforce of the future, organisational design and deep technical knowledge. Outside of client work, Lisa has a global role developing cutting edge intellectual capital on the future role of data for the public sector through the Oliver Wyman Forum and is a Visiting Academic Fellow at the London School of Economics.

John is a Managing Partner at Oliver Wyman and Head of the Oliver Wyman Forum, the firm’s platform for engaging key business, public policy and societal leaders to act on shared challenges and create positive impact in society. John also founded and continues to lead Oliver Wyman’s Private Capital business, working with leading Private Equity funds and alternative asset managers on business model strategy, deal generation, diligence and value creation. He has over 25 years of consulting experience advising the boards and senior executives of the world’s leading private and public sector organizations on strategy, organizational effectiveness, risk management and M&A.
Gilles Roucolle

For over 19 years, Mr. Roucolle conducted numerous high stake strategic and operational assignments on a global basis, across all modes of transport including freight and passenger railroads, airlines, logistics, postal, shipping and rail as well as with aerospace suppliers and financial institutions. He has in-depth experience in value growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, marketing strategy, operations management, restructuring and IT Strategy. A distinguished member of the Business Advisory Council of Chicago Northwestern University's Transportation Center, Mr. Roucolle also frequently publishes articles in various publications and provides testimonies before regulators and governments. Mr. Roucolle holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD. He is also a chartered engineer (M.Sc.) from Ecole Centrale of Paris and holds an Economic degree of the Paris-Sorbonne University.

Huw Van Steenis
Vice Chair, Partner, Oliver Wyman
Huw van Steenis is a Vice-Chair and Partner at Oliver Wyman. In this role, Huw advises investors and financial institutions to assist them in their efforts to capture opportunities and mitigate risks posed by the transition to a lower carbon economy. He also drives research of financial markets and sustainability trends to help guide investment and strategic decisions. Huw currently serves as a member of the Investment Committee at the Oxford University Endowment and co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Responsive Financial Systems. Previously he was Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive of UBS and Chair of the Sustainable Finance Committee. Before this, he was Senior Advisor to Mark Carney when he was Governor at the Bank of England, leading the van Steenis report, which made a series of recommendations, including climate scenario exercises for banks and insurers. Huw worked at Morgan Stanley for 14 years, spending much of his time there as Global Head of Banks and Diversified Financials research. He and his teams won numerous awards during this time, including being voted #1 in investor surveys 12 times.

Cara Williams is a highly accomplished and influential leader in the field of sustainability, climate strategy, and investment trends. As Senior Partner and Global Head of Climate and Sustainability at Mercer, Cara plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving Mercer’s sustainability value proposition and market positioning. She collaborates closely with organizations — both public and private — as well as asset owners of all types, to help them establish and achieve their long-term strategic goals. With over 30 years of experience in the investment and consulting industry, Cara joined Mercer’s investment consulting business in April 2005 as Global COO. She began her career in finance as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in New York, and before entering the investment industry, she was responsible for budgets and logistics for the US Army and NATO MWR deployments. Cara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Hartford, as well as being fluent in French and German. She also serves on the advisory boards of Neqsol Holdings (an international group active in energy, telecommunications, construction, and high-tech), Carson Group (a network of independent financial advisors offering coaching, consulting, training, and resources), and the German School in London.
