FEMA disaster claims

Entity: US state and local governments and eligible nonprofits

Issue: Communities and certain nonprofit organizations impacted by disasters may become eligible for disaster relief funding. However the process of collecting entitled funds can be challenging without expert support.

Solution: Marsh McLennan’s Forensic Accounting and Claims Services (FACS) team identifies, quantifies, and recovers losses in the aftermath of a presidentially declared disasters. The team helps clients complete the initial Request for Public Assistance (RPA) document as well as other documents to qualify for aid. Our experts, including FEMA and insurance claims specialists, certified public accountants, forensic accountants, and certified fraud examiners, utilize technology to expedite the claims recovery process. Year to date the team has recovered over $300 million in claims for our clients.
