Chief People Officer Carmen Fernandez Named to Most Powerful Latinas List

Carmen Fernandez, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer for Marsh McLennan, has been named to the Most Powerful Latina Class of 2023 by the Association of Latino Professionals for America. ALPFA was the first national Latino professional association in the United States, established in Los Angeles in 1972. 

The mission of ALPFA is to empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy. Announced each fall as part of the L'ATTITUDE conference, the Most Powerful Latinas list highlights 50 of the most powerful and influential Latina trailblazers in business, entrepreneurship and civic engagement. These women are changing the face of business in America and empowering the next generation of Latina leaders to reach their full potential.

Ms. Fernandez is responsible for our people strategy and capabilities, to support our colleagues’ growth and our businesses’ priorities. Prior to her current role, Ms. Fernandez held positions within Marsh McLennan for 15 years, most recently Deputy CHRO, CHRO of Guy Carpenter and HR leadership roles at Mercer, including North America HR Leader, Global HR Leader for the Career business and Chief of Staff in the Office of the CEO. Before joining Marsh McLennan, Ms. Fernandez worked in investment banking at Bank of America and Goldman Sachs. She began her career as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
